Ecosystem Solutions Teams with Army Environmental Center | Apr-2007
Ecosystem Solutions will work with state and federal agencies, including the Dept. of Defense, to assess long-term survival of restored submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) beds in Chesapeake Bay. In collaboration with the Chesapeake Research Consortium Freshwater SAV Partnership and the Army Environmental Center, ESI will serve as technical lead in monitoring SAV restoration site survival at selected locales in Chesapeake Bay. In keeping with our broad science themes of assessing restoration techniques, we will be visiting sites throughout the Chesapeake Bay that have experienced SAV restoration within the past 10 years in order to determine long-term success. All sites are adjacent to DoD installations along the western shore and tributaries of the Bay. Results will be helpful to determine whether site selection was adequate and whether further restoration efforts are warranted.
