About Us
Ecosystem Solutions was incorporated in 2004 to address fundamental needs in environmental science. As a research / technical organization, ESI engages in research and development in order to improve society's ability to restore vital aquatic habitats. This line of inquiry includes:
- developing cost-effective methods to restore submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) beds
- oyster reef restoration using innovative designs and materials
- wetland design and function
- stream corridor restoration
As a second emphasis, ESI is also developing methods that assess the function of restored habitats in an ecological context. Such assessment is usually at the community level and can be used to effectively gauge the success of riparian buffer restoration, seagrass ecology, and habitat exploitation by marine and freshwater species. We accomplish our work with a superb technical staff, and by creating strong alliances with organizations pursuing similar goals.
